RUIPHUL, or RUI SILK

A beautiful brocaded silk fabric, woven at Bijapur, Bombay, on hand looms from native silk yarns. The design shows the flowers of the Calatropis Gigantea. The fabric is chiefly used at wedding ceremonies.
